Time: 23th September, 2016

The 3rd Sichuan International Travel Expo kicks off on September 23 in Leshan city of southwest China’s Sichuan province. The expo attracts representatives from 42 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, France, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. Domestically, tourism agencies and companies from 14 provinces participate in the event.

The expo has three key elements, such as exhibitions, trade service and forums. In detail, it has eight major events, including the opening ceremony, the Emei summit, the convention for tourism business in Asia-Pacific, theme week for the country of honor and the city of honor, the launching ceremony of Southwest China’s innovative travel business alliance, high-end travel routine experience in Sichuan province and the launching ceremony of Leshan global marketing campaign. In addition, the 2016 Mount Emei international climbing festival and Mount Emei Zen music festival will be held as well.

Compared with previous events, this year’s expo emphasizes more on deepening tourism cooperation, presenting impressive exhibitions, organizing diverse events and pushing forward tourism sales.

Industry insiders say that the expo brings new space for Sichuan to develop under the national strategies of ‘One Belt, One Road’ and the ‘Yangtze River Economic Belt’. Twenty-one cities and prefectures in Sichuan has made up a tourism marketing alliance, enhancing connection with places outside Sichuan. Through the alliance, they will develop high-end Silk Road theme routines and travel products to realize common benefits.
