Mount Emei Hosts International Mountaineering Festival

The 2017 Mount Emei International Mountaineering Festival kicked off on November 5th in Sichuan province with nearly 1500 hikers and climbers taking part. Participants aged between 18 and 74 competed along a 7km long route mapped out by organisers.

Among them were international hiking and climbing enthusiasts from Russia, Austria, Vietnam, Nepal, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.

Mount Emei is known for its breathtaking natural scenery, crispy fresh air as well as its inhabitants; particularly monkeys. It is also one of UNESCO'S world natural and cultural heritage sites.
