Giant Panda World to Be Built at Mount Emei

The construction plan of Giant Panda World at Mount Emei has recently been approved by experts. The park, which covers an area of 1160 mu, will be the home of some pandas and crested ibis. The area is in Mount Emei International Tourism Resort. It is expected to be the home of animals, the field of researchers and the park of tourists.

On May 13, the Forestry Department of Sichuan Provincial Government held the experts’ assessment meeting for this project. Experts agreed to build the project at Mount Emei. Together with Buddhism Lightening Flower Area, Zen botanical garden, the project makes up a kingdom of rare animals and plants. They could upgrade the taste and quality of Emei International Travel Resort, pushing forward the transition of Emei tourism industry.

Pandas are China’s treasure and the rarest animals at Mount Emei. From Dacheng Temple to the mountain peak, rich bamboos grow everywhere, providing staple food for pandas. Sometimes pandas also eat other plants.
