2016 Mount Emei International Hiking Festival Kicks off

The 2016 Mount Emei International Hiking Festival Kicks off on October 16. Climbers compete along a 7-km routine in the key area of Emei. They could enjoy the charming natural scenery and rich cultural resources there while competing.

The festival encourages participants to enjoy sport, health and happiness. It has an international friendship contest, a contest for fitness instead of competition and a hiking tour.

From September 20 to October 16, about 1500 people applied for the competition and 1026 of them finally took part in it. Participants include students, young people, the elderly and international climbers.
