By Bus

Mt. Emei is 130 km from Chengdu and 30 km from Leshan. It takes two hours and RMB45 from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station (028-85433609) to Mt. Emei or Leshan and the bus runs at every 30 minutes.

There are buses to Mt. Emei from Leshan Central Station and Xiaoba Bus Station. The headway, duration and fare for buses from Leshan Central Station are 30 minutes, 30 minutes and RMB8 respectively. What’s more, there are also buses directly from Mianyang to Mt. Emei.

There are two buses from Chongqing Caiyuanba Transport Center to Mt. Emei at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively. The buses will stop at Chenjiaping Long-Distance Station, so tourists may take the buses at the aforementioned two stations in Chongqing. There are two kinds of bus tickets, with one for RMB90 while the other for RMB105. Tourists may return to Chongqing by bus from Emei Transport Center or Mt. Emei Scenic Area Transport Center.

Please note that there are two bus stations in Emeishan City. One is Beimen Bus Station, located in the downtown area, about 7 km or 10-minute-ride away from the scenic area, while the other one located in the scenic area. It is highly advisable to make sure the destination before getting on a bus. If you have wrongly got on the bus for BeimenBus Station, you shall get off and get to Baoguo Temple by taxi.
